The Failure of EU Diplomacy in Israel: Time for Concrete Action

Yesterday's mission to Israel by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas was a total flop. Kallas asked to stop the attacks in Syria and this morning the Israeli army hit two military bases right on Syrian territory, Kallas asked to resume negotiations for a ceasefire and the Netanyahu government in response is considering invading and militarily occupying the Gaza Strip.

Instead of watching helplessly as Netanyahu and his government of fanatics indulge in delusions of omnipotence, the European Union should immediately approve an arms embargo and suspend the association agreement signed with Israel in 2000.
